As part of its continuous efforts to upskill and train its employees, Gulf Bank announced that a group of its Direct Sales employees have obtained internationally accredited certificates from the London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF) — a milestone that Gulf Bank is the first to achieve in the Kuwaiti banking sector.

Gulf Bank had 15 employees from its Direct Sales team participate in an intensive training program organized by the Institute of Banking Studies (IBS), in partnership with the London Institute of Banking and Finance.

The program developed and trained Gulf Bank’s Direct Sales employees in a set of critical knowledge skills, strategies, and the latest market trends in sales and customer service. The program incorporated key tools related to evaluating personal capabilities and customer satisfaction, in addition to understanding various customer segments’ needs, and effective communication techniques to improve overall customer satisfaction.

In line with Gulf Bank’s 2025 strategy, the certification program focused on advancing consumer banking services through the development of customer satisfaction and loyalty – all with the added value of increasing employees' experiences and knowledge.

In light of the occasion, Gulf Bank's General Manager of Human Resources, Salma Al-Hajjaj, said: “Gulf Bank is proud to be the first bank in Kuwait to certify its employees through the London Institute of Banking and Financial Studies, as part of its continuous endeavors to upskill and train its employees. All of these efforts and more help to consolidate Gulf Bank’s position as the leading Kuwaiti Bank of the Future.”

She pointed out that customer experience is an utmost priority at the Bank, and that Gulf Bank is proud to spearhead various customer experience efforts through a skilled and experienced Direct Sales team, whose expertise has now been formally recognized with an international professional certification.

Al-Hajjaj noted that the certification contributes to elevating a promising group of Direct Sales employees to higher levels, offering them an international accreditation and providing them with the necessary tools to excel in their roles. Through all of these efforts and more, Gulf Bank is providing its clients with an unparalleled customer experience, while promoting a performance-driven culture based on merit and excellence.

She added: “With the banking sector heading towards a new era of digitization, Gulf Bank has shown great dynamism in responding quickly to the requirements of technological development, aimed at transforming Gulf Bank into an integrated digital bank that rises to the level of the aspirations of future generations.”

Al-Hajjaj also commented: "We are proud that Gulf Bank is one of the leading banks that continues to invest generously in its human capital, enhancing the competencies of our employees who make up the foundation of our strategic goals. By providing our employees with ongoing opportunities to enhance their expertise and skills, Gulf Bank is keeping pace with major banking developments and global banking requirements.”
