Gulf Bank Supports Local Entrepreneurs at Qout Market

Kuwait, 03 February 2019: In celebration of Qout Market’s sixth season, Gulf Bank partnered with the artisanal market on Saturday, Feb. 2 as part of its ongoing mission to support local and emerging small to medium businesses in the region. As a title sponsor, Gulf Bank added its own personal touch of innovation by hosting a mini carnival within the market for the first time in the market’s history.

Qout Market, took place at the historic Safat Square, a symbolic venue for trade. With the National Day spirit in the air this month, the market hosted a variety of local businesses selling everything from farm produce and locally-made food products to artisanal crafts.

“We truly enjoyed partnering with Qout Market as part of our ongoing efforts to support local businesses and highlight the truly incredible talent that is emerging in our region,” said Ahmad Al-Ameer, Assistant General Manager of External Communications at Gulf Bank. “Much like how Qout Market has made it a point to shine a spotlight on local talent, we recognize how important it is for larger enterprises to also step up and support small vendors that are driving innovation and a spirit of creativity in the country. For decades, we have proudly supported local businesses through our various service offerings tailored to helping small businesses grow, and we are proud to be a part of so many local success stories as a result. We have always made it a point to support our local community, and we could not be prouder to sponsor an initiative like Qout Market.”

Gulf Bank is the first event sponsor to introduce a fair within the market, hosting a variety of entertainment activities in which guests won cash prizes and more. This year’s activities included target shooting, arcade hoops, a boxing arcade, and a live graffiti show. Winners from each of the mini activities also had the opportunity to take home even larger prizes at the Gulf Bank wheel of fortune, where they had the chance to spin the wheel and win a variety of cash prizes or gifts such as AirPods, Fitbit bands, and GB playing cards. No matter the outcome, everyone was a winner.

Qout Market, an artisanal farmer’s market established in 2013 with the aim of empowering the local community through seasonal initiatives, focuses on small and medium sized vendors specializing in farm produce, artisanal crafts and locally made food products. The market, which averages anywhere from 15,000-18,000 visitors per market, attracts a wide variety of families and visitors. The upcoming market, which is set to close out the sixth season, is scheduled for March 9.
