Gulf Bank Launches AJYAL 5 Development Program

Kuwait, 28 November 2018: Gulf Bank has launched the fifth edition of its signature AJYAL development program for the fifth consecutive year. The program, now in its fifth edition, will take place over a six-month period, with a new generation of Gulf Bank staff trainees, who have been with the bank between 1-4 years. The program will see the trainees develop and refine a number of key banking skills, aiding in their development, and unleashing growth potential both personally and professionally.

The orientation session for the program was held at GUST University, in the presence of Gulf Bank senior management who wished this year’s participants good luck in the program and their careers at the Bank.

Commenting on the program, General Manager of Human Resources, Mrs. Salma Al-Hajjaj stated, “AJYAL is a program that we are continuously upgrading and enhancing, and we are proud of the many success stories that have emerged over the years.” She further added, “The program has shown us that, when taking into consideration the banking landscape, equipping national talent with the technical know-how and social skills empowers them to rising to challenges and exceed our expectations.”

In addition to the program’s orientation, Gulf Bank launched the second edition of its AJYAL mentorship program. The mentorship program sees past graduates become mentors to the current generation of inductees, helping them navigate the program and providing insight into the program’s expectations in order to advance their careers at the bank.

Commenting on the purpose of the mentorship program, Assistant General Manager Human Resources, Mrs. Jennah Al-Mattar said, “In dealing with millennials there is a proven value in providing them with peer-to-peer mentoring to better understand concepts. The objective of our mentorship program is to help and guide mentees through the program. Allowing them to gain insights and learn from the experiences of mentors who have successfully completed program. Ultimately, this program builds valuable relations to strengthen their careers and networking within the Bank.”
