Gulf Bank hosts orientation session in preparation for TEAM GULF BANK's participation in the 2013 Global Management Challenge

Kuwait – 25 November, 2013: Gulf Bank recently organized an orientation session at Jumeirah Hotel in preparation for TEAM GULF BANK's participation in the 2013 Global Management Challenge Kuwait. The orientation session was held to prepare the Bank's 12 Teams for the kick off meeting taking place on the 25th of November. Mrs. Salma Al-Hajjaj, General Manager, Human Resources at Gulf Bank started the orientation session with a motivating opening speech that highlighted the importance of 'Being the Change' and making a difference. The orientation session provided an opportunity for the teams to set strategies and lay the groundwork for the upcoming competition.

TEAM GULF BANK consists of 12 teams comprising of both university students and Gulf Bank staff and will be among a number of other teams competing in the 2013 Global Management Challenge Kuwait, to become national champions of Kuwait and earn the right to compete for Kuwait in the final in April 2014.  This is the first year Gulf Bank will be participating in this event ushering in a new era and a shift in culture based on creating learning agility.

The Global Management Challenge is the largest simulated strategy and management competition in the world. It is a strategic management competition based around a virtual environment with its own market and shares. Teams manage their own companies with the objective of getting the highest share prices on a simulated stock exchange.  The winning team in the national final will go on to represent Kuwait in the international finals, competing against national champions from more than 40 countries, including USA, Russia and China in Sochi, Russia, in April 2014.
