Kuwait - 6 March 2012: Gulf Bank has been recognised by the Committee of the Marine Heritage of the Kuwait Sea Sport Club (KSSC) for the Bank's long-term support of the KSSC's activities that aim to preserve and secure the future of Kuwait's unique seafaring heritage.

Gulf Bank was honored at a special ceremony which took place at the late Sheikh Abdullah Al Mubarak Al Sabah Hall on the Club's grounds. Fahad Al-Fahad, the President of the Sea Sport Club attended, along with Deputy President Ahmad Al Ghannam, Khaled Al Foudary- General Secretary, the KSSC's Board of Directors, representatives of contributing parties and cooperative societies, and Gulf Bank's General Manager of Board Affairs, Mr. Fawzy Al Thunayan.

In his keynote speech Khalid Al Foudary thanked everyone that contributed to the success and enhancement of the Club's status through their dedicated support. He also drew attention to the efforts and achievements of the Club, both locally and globally, in the field of water sports, and the acclaim it has brought the State of Kuwait and its national flag.

Mr. Fawzy Al Thunayan, General Manager of Board Affairs at Gulf Bank said: "On behalf of the Bank, I thank the Committee of the Marine Heritage of the Kuwait Sea Sport Club for its recognition of the assistance we have sought to provide KSSC over the years in preserving Kuwait's maritime heritage.  In particular, we have been a proud supporter of the Annual Pearl Diving Journeys, which is an iconic cultural aspect of Kuwait's past.  At Gulf Bank we believe Kuwait's traditions and heritage is an important part of our national identity and merit preservation for the benefit of Kuwait's youth and future generations.  We feel very proud to receive this recognition today, and we hope that our close relationship and cooperation will continue in the future."
