Kuwait, July 13 2011:  Gulf Bank announced today it will be the main sponsor of the 23rd Memorial Journey for Pearl Diving. The journey, which begins from the 14th- 23rd July, is organized each year by the Committee of the Marine Heritage of the Kuwait Sea Sport Club, under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of Kuwait.

Fawzy Al-Thunayan, General Manager of Board Affairs at Gulf Bank said: "Gulf Bank is a firm believer in the importance of reviving heritage and preserving the traditions of Kuwait's unique past. The Pearl Diving Festival allows us to reminisce the ancient ways of our forefathers and value our tradition. During the yearly memorial journey, young participants are reminded of the difficulties Kuwaiti sailors faced before oil had been discovered, along with the traditions and values their ancestors developed during these times.
