Gulf Bank Continues its Pledge of Giving Others a New Hope in Life with "Paint Kuwait Red"

Kuwait " June 23 2011:  Gulf Bank continues to support the "Paint Kuwait Red" campaign which aims to encourage more people in Kuwait to donate blood. Celebrating World Blood Donor's Day, the campaign kicked off on 16 June at the Kuwait Towers, where 300 glowing red lanterns were released into the skies above Kuwait. The event welcomed many visitors who were keen to see the launch and join in the celebration of the opening of the "Paint Kuwait Red" campaign.

The "Paint Kuwait Red" campaign was launched under the patronage of the Minister of Health Dr. Hilal Al Sayer, along with several prominent guests, including Mrs. Margret Al- Sayer, Founder and Director of Bayt Abdullah Children's Hospice, Dr. Rana Al- Abdulrazzak, Medical and Donor Affairs Director at the Kuwait Central Blood Bank, Dr. Ghanim Al-Najjar, the Political Science Professor at Kuwait University and Mr. Abdulhameed Al-Jassim,  Kuwait's prominent TV presenter.

Representing the Bank at the event, Fawzy Al-Thunayan, General Manager of Board Affairs said: "Gulf Bank's support for "Paint Kuwait Red" is part of the Bank's long-term commitment to serve the local community and meet its needs. The Bank's support for humanitarian organizations such as the Club 25 Kuwait is in line with our aims of supporting the development of an informed and responsible community.  Without exaggeration, donating blood can be a real life saver.  Witnessing the presence of so many volunteers and donors at today's launch underlines the general concern of the community, and at Gulf Bank we are proud to be involved in supporting and further understanding of this important cause."

In addition to the launch event, Club 25 Kuwait has also opened a special booth at the Avenues Mall under the patronage of Dr. Rana Al-Abdulrazzak, Medical and Donor Affairs Director at the Kuwait Central Blood Bank. The booth is a venue for activities for young people and children to help build their awareness of the importance of blood donation and voluntary work.

Giving blood is a gesture given out of community spirit and sense of duty. Gulf Bank recognizes the sensibility of blood donations and applauds the generosity and selflessness of all donors.
