Gulf Bank Participates in Ramadan Iftar Banquets and the "Eqra"a wa Ertaqi" project
Kuwait " August 26, 2010: Gulf Bank will be sponsoring the "Man Fattara Sa"eman" project and organizing Iftar meals at various mosques in Kuwait during the Holy Month of Ramadan. These projects are organized by Mabarrat Al Rahma Al Khayriyyah, which aims at providing Iftar meals to underprivileged families of all nationalities throughout Kuwait. Gulf Bank's sponsorship provided Iftar meals to more than 2000 needy people.
The Bank also supported the "Eqra wa Ertaqi" project, an initiative that aims to develop and increase awareness in reading the Holy Quran. The project includes reading competitions as well as classes for people to memorize the Holy Quran and aims at republishing and restoring old Holy Quran books.
Fawzy Al-Thunayan, General Manager of Board Affairs, commented: "Ramadan is a time for sharing and giving to those in need. It motivates us as a bank when we are involved in projects like this, which touches and changes the lives of many families."
Previous projects organized by Al Mabarrah include "Man Fattara Sa"eman" project which Gulf Bank sponsored last year and managed to provide Eftar meals to 2000 people in need of all nationalities throughout the holy month. In addition to "Barrid Alaihom" project, an initiative that was aimed to provide needy families with fridges and air conditioning units to cool off the summer heat.
Gulf Bank encourages institutions, organizations as well as individuals to contribute to the society through leading effective socially responsible campaigns, not only during the Holy Month but throughout the entire year.
