Gulf Bank Launches First iPhone App for Bank Transactions in the region
Kuwait " August 15, 2010: Gulf Bank has just announced the launch of the first ever transaction based iPhone application in Kuwait. With the launch of the Bank's own banking application for the iPhone, customers using iPhones can now easily access all Gulf Bank's online and mobile banking services, including balance inquiries, the ability to transfer funds and credit card payments.
Aly Shalaby, Gulf Bank's General Manager of Consumer Banking said: "We are very pleased to be the first Bank to bring this fully secure service to the Kuwaiti market. Smartphones are increasingly popular in the Middle East, especially in the GCC, and Gulf Bank is committed to using this technology to benefit our customers.
We will continue to enhance functionality of the iPhone application, as well as to seek to extend similar functionality to other mobile platforms. This is just the latest of a number of initiatives Gulf Bank is undertaking to ensure that we give our customers the greatest choice in banking at their convenience."
The launch of Gulf Bank's iPhone app continues to build on its already well established mobile banking services which are accessible through mobile networks across the world. Gulf Bank's Mobile Banking service is enabled with a menu-driven application that facilitates customers' banking requirements and is available for Zain, Wataniya and Viva subscribers.
Customers need to visit Gulf Bank's bilingual website and subscribe to Mobile Banking. All iPhone users require an ePin to perform financial transactions. Upon submitting the online form, the service will be activated and the ePin will be available at the Mubarak Al Kabir Branch (Head Office) for collection. After receiving the ePin and downloading the application by visiting the App store or iTunes, customers can start performing financial transactions, such as checking their available balance, transferring funds, verifying the last 5 transactions, checking credit card balance and making credit card payments on their iPhones.
