Kuwait " July 8, 2010: Gulf Bank was recently the exclusive sponsor for a ceremony held at the Abdul Aziz Al Shaheen School in Mishref, to honor kindergarten students as well as teachers and school administrators of the Hawally educational district. The Bank's sponsorship is part of its continuous effort to support and develop education in Kuwait. The ceremony was held Under the Patronage of the Governor of Hawally, retired Lieutenant General, Mr. Abdullah Abdulrahman Al- Faris.

The ceremony acknowledged and honored diligent students and teachers for their efforts during the past year. Amongst those honored were 96 teachers who were not absent from work for more than two days during the school year along with 98 children who were not absent from school for more than 5 days.  Five schools received an award for achieving cent per cent attendance by teachers and 3 schools received an award for achieving cent per cent attendance by students.

Fawzy Al- Thunayan, General Manager Board Affairs at Gulf Bank said: "There are a number of elements involved in the educational process including the teacher, the student and the learning environment. Some of the most important aspects, which also have a direct impact on a student's success, include maintaining a regular and continuous school program. Recent observations show the positive effect this has on students and their overall academic achievement."

"Gulf Bank has developed an interest in such elements, and its sponsorship aims to complement the other factors involved in the educational process to encourage consistency in school programs and recognize the efforts which are being taken towards strengthening the overall educational process. Sustaining the systems and processes can only be done by combining efforts all round and maintaining this will ultimately lead to a more responsible community" Al-Thunayan concluded.

Gulf Bank's sponsorship follows on from its exclusive sponsorship of the Second Creators Forum, which was organized by the Technical Guidance of Family and Consumer Sciences at the General Department of Al-Jahra Educational District which took place on the 3rd June 2010, and was held Under the Patronage of Professor Moudhi Al-Humoud, the Minister of Education and Higher Education.
