Kuwait, 6 June 2010: Gulf Bank recently sponsored a special ceremony to honor social science teachers and principals in schools which have hosted technical guidance activities in that field. The ceremony, which was held under the Patronage of Sheikha Shaikha Al- Abdullah Al- Khalifa Al-Sabah and Mr. Talq Saqr Al-Haim, General Manager of Al-Ahmadi Educational District, took place at the Qarwa Middle School for Girls' theatre.

The ceremony was inaugurated with an introductory speech by Mrs. Khouloud Al-Mutairy, Senior Social Science Guide of Al-Ahmadi Educational District, followed by a poem written and recited by Maged Al-Rashdan.  During the ceremony, the audience were entertained by an interesting play written by Mona Al-Kandary and performed by the attending students. The play, "Voice of a Nation", focused on the national identity of Kuwaitis, and highlighted socio-political events as well as the economic history of modern Kuwait.  It also addressed the unity of the Kuwaiti people, regarded by many as a main driving force of the country's progress and prosperity.

The ceremony also included a rendition of the Teacher's Anthem, which was performed by students of Fatima Al-Haqqan and Hamad Khaled Elementary schools, in addition to a national song presented by students from the Rihanna Bint Zaid Elementary School for Girls.

In recognition of their efforts during the school year, the ceremony was concluded with honoring school principals, members of the event's organizing committee, as well as Elementary, Middle and High School teachers and staff.

Hadeel Al-Fadhli, Manager in the Marketing Department represented Gulf Bank, and received a token of appreciation on behalf of the Bank from Sheikha Shaikha Abdullah Khalifa Al-Sabah, for being the exclusive sponsor of "Voice of a Nation."

Education is a key part of Gulf Bank's corporate social responsibility objectives, which is a reflection of its commitment to developing the talents and skills of future generations, and devoting much of its efforts to change the future of the Kuwaiti society to more positive one.
