Kuwait " 16 June 2010: Gulf Bank has hailed its sponsorship of the RED Football Tournament, which was held at the Goal Football Fields opposite Shaab Park, as an outstanding success.

The RED Football Tournament was organized by the Youth's Creative Group and coordinated by Mr. Mohamed Al-Hulaila, the Organizing Committee's Chairman, and Ahmad Al- Hamdan, the General Coordinator. Thirty-two teams of eight players each competed for 3 days in the hopes of winning the RED Football Tournament. Young men between the ages of 15 and 24 years old participated in the elimination games and final match.

The final was won by the "Tawseel" team, who beat the "Khaled Al-Mutawa" team 3-2.   Gulf Bank's official representative, Mr. Nasser Al Daihani, an Assistant Manager in Gulf Bank's Marketing Department along with Mr. Mohamed Halila honored the winning team.

The final day of the Gulf Bank RED Football Tournament also included many other exciting football related competitions and activities in appreciation and honor of exceptional talent. Awards were distributed to dedicated participants in which Adel Hanoun won "Best Player", Saad Shaalan was named "Best Goalie" and Nasser Bou Hamad received the "Best Referee" award.

Commenting on the Championship, Mr. Al-Hulaila said: "We came up with this idea just before we graduated from High School, while we were waiting for the final results to come in.  We wanted to invest our time in developing our capabilities in a constructive manner. We chose sports, namely football, as it is the most popular sport among young Kuwaitis. Our families as well as Gulf Bank were supportive of us, which helped us to be creative and invest our time in this useful activity. Gulf Bank has a long-standing tradition in supporting and helping youth initiatives and creativity, and I would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Bank."
