Gulf Bank Sponsors the National Union of Kuwait Students' Conference in the United States
Kuwait " 24 November, 2009: Gulf Bank has announced that it will be sponsoring the National Union of Kuwait Students' conference in the U.S. The annual event, which will take place in Long Beach, California on November 26th-29th will be held under the patronage of H.H. the Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, along with the participation of H.E. Sheikh Salim Al-Jaber Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, Kuwait's Ambassador to the United States.
The conference, one of the largest gatherings of Kuwaitis outside of Kuwait, aims to educate and inform students about leadership through a variety of seminars and lectures. The three-day conference will further include a career fair, the Union's Annual General Meeting, elections, debates, a football tournament and a poetic evening.
The National Union of Kuwaiti Students-USA is a subset of the National Union of Kuwaiti Students in Kuwait. Amongst the Union's primary tasks are the reunification of Kuwaiti students living abroad in order to help them create an academic climate that is conducive to learning.
Surour AlSamerai, Head of Human Resources, stated the importance of the conference, "The National Union of Kuwaiti Students is a conference that we frequently sponsor and it is vital for Gulf Bank to be involved in such events. Our involvement promotes leadership and education among Kuwaiti youth and also provides us with an opportunity to spot and recognize talent that we can bring to the Bank."
