Gulf Bank Celebrates Sporting Success
Kuwait " 18 June 2009: Gulf Bank held an awards ceremony to celebrate its victory in the recent KBC football Cup final, held on Friday 22nd May 2009, and to recognize the sporting achievements of other staff members who have participated in KBC sports competitions throughout 2009.
At the celebration, which was held at Atlantis Restaurant in the Marina Hotel, special recognition was given to: Bashayer Ajran in Bowling; Ali Hayat in Tennis and Mohammed Al-Ramzi in Squash.
Leading the ceremony at the Marina Hotel were Fawzy Al-Thunayan, General Manager of Board Affairs at Gulf Bank; Surour Alsamerai, General Manager of Human Resources at Gulf Bank; Hesham Al-Baijan, Corporate Services Manager at Gulf Bank and KBC Chairman.
Surour Alsamerai, General Manager of Human Resources at Gulf Bank said: "Our staff are key to the success of our business and we believe it is vital to invest in them. We want a healthy and active team here at Gulf Bank, a team that is proud of its achievements both on and off the pitch."
Gulf Bank focuses on internal and external Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives that identify the areas of need in Kuwait. These include the development of the country's skills base and human resources through training and development programs, as well as supporting important community and educational initiatives.
Recently, Gulf Bank embarked on a new programme to honor its employees by developing creative recognition programs such as its Telebanking awards. The bank also completed a health awareness program, where staff members were given free dietary consultations.
