Gulf Bank " Investing in Business Skills Development for Kuwait Students in Cooperation With INJAZ

Kuwait, 16 March, 2008: Gulf Bank has pledged to help develop business and economic knowledge for hundreds of Kuwaiti students with a major investment in youth development by sponsoring INJAZ-Kuwait for the second year in a row since its launching in 2006.  The Bank will be supporting INJAZ's new "Personal Economics Program" for the upcoming academic year as well as offering 40 volunteers that will mentor around 1120 students.

The program will teach students the basic principles of economics, career choices and potential future roles and opportunities in the Kuwait and regional job markets. The one-year course that starts this month, will also help in developing business skills by introducing students to the economy that surrounds them as well as helping them discover more about their own talents and personal interests.

In addition to the "Personal Economics Program", Gulf Bank is supporting INJAZ " Kuwait in their upcoming events: the Regional Competition and the International Forum for Entrepreneurs are both to occur in May 2008, with the Forum taking place in Argentina.  In June 2008, Gulf Bank will be sponsoring The Battle of the Best, where the entrepreneur student companies will compete for the title of Best INJAZ-Kuwait Company 2008.

"This initiative is the latest step in our continuous commitment to supporting the development and education of Kuwait's talented students. Gulf Bank is proud to be taking a leadership role in helping the success of Kuwait's future generations" Said Mr. Surour Alsamerai Gulf Bank's General Manager, Human Resources.

We are looking forward to seeing Kuwaiti students significantly benefiting from the upcoming course" Mr. Alsamerai added.

Gulf Bank's commitment to young Kuwaitis is shown through its work as a major supporter of the National Union of Kuwaiti Students (NUKS), offering summer internship programmes and through offering its Freedom account and Red Programme that are specially tailored for school and university students, respectively.
