Gulf Bank awards KD 5000 to Injaz Kuwait's
Kuwait, July 11, 2007: Gulf Bank has awarded KD 5000 to the "Green Target Co.", winner of the Injaz-Kuwait "Battle of the Best" competition for student companies.
Injaz-Kuwait is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the advancement of young business talent. This year, thousands of students from 27 Kuwaiti schools participated in the Injaz Company Program, setting up their own companies and marketing their products under the guidance of expert volunteers.
For the second year in a row, Gulf Bank's Red youth programme sponsored the Injaz "Battle of the Best" competition in which student companies presented their results to a panel of independent judges. The competition was held at the Arraya Ballroom under the patronage of Kuwait's Minister for Education, Mrs. Nouriya Al-Subeeh.
The winning company, "Green Target Co.", was established by 25 students at the Al-Rouya Bilingual School for Boys. With the theme of "Green is our World, Earth is our Target", the Green Target Co. created a model of a recycling company linked to schools and homes. The students organised paper-collecting competitions in schools across Kuwait and recycled 45 tons of paper.
"Gulf Bank congratulates the Green Target Co.," said Ebtihaj Al-Roomi, Gulf Bank's Youth Manager. "It is inspiring to see young Kuwaitis develop their business skills while helping the environment at the same time."
Each of the winning students received KD 200, deposited in their Gulf Bank Red accounts.
"The Red programme is proud to be associated with the Injaz-Kuwait best company competition. Red is the leading programme for students in Kuwait, offering exclusive discounts and a host of exciting prizes," Ms. Al-Roomi said. "Gulf Bank is a major supporter of Kuwait's young talent and we are delighted to know that the Red customers of today will be among the business leaders of tomorrow."
