Gulf Bank Supports Economic Education of Kuwait Youth

Kuwait, November 26, 2006: Gulf Bank is making a major investment in youth development through its Platinum Sponsorship of Injaz Kuwait, a non-profit non-governmental organization dedicated to educating young people about business, economics and entrepreneurship.

"Gulf Bank is committed to making a significant investment in Kuwait's human capital and developing the skills, talents and ambitions of young Kuwaitis," said Bassam Y. Alghanim, Chairman of Gulf Bank. "The Bank's Platinum Sponsorship of Injaz Kuwait is an integral part of this investment. Injaz is inspiring young people to realize their dreams in business and in life."

Injaz Kuwait is part of JA Worldwide (Junior Achievement), the world's largest and fastest growing organization dedicated to economic education. Through practical hands-on workshops and mentoring, Injaz teaches Kuwait's students the fundamentals of business and economics and gives them the skills and confidence to achieve success in the real world of business.

Injaz Kuwait was officially launched last Thursday in a ceremony at the J.W. Marriott attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan, the Regional Ambassador for Injaz in the Arab world.

"Gulf Bank is proud to take the lead as the principal corporate supporter of Injaz Kuwait," Mr. Alghanim said. "Our sponsorship builds on the investment that Gulf Bank is already making in Kuwait's future generations."

Gulf Bank is a major corporate supporter of the National Union of Kuwaiti Students (NUKS) U.S. Branch and is the Gold Sponsor of the 23rd Annual NUKS Conference in New York. Gulf Bank also supports Kuwaiti students through its summer internship programmes and its Red and Freedom programmes are the leading banking services for students in Kuwait.

"In one of our most significant achievements, Gulf Bank has won first place in the prestigious Localization Award from the GCC Council of Ministers of Labour and Social Affairs for the second year in a row," Mr. Alghanim continued. "This award recognises the Bank's outstanding success in achieving the highest percentage of Kuwaiti nationals in employment in the private sector in Kuwait.

"Gulf Bank is also the first Kuwaiti company to receive an International Business Award for the best HR team. Through our training and development programmes and our sponsorship of Injaz Kuwait and NUKS, Gulf Bank is a leader in giving young Kuwaitis the opportunity to build successful careers and contribute to our country's economic advancement. Our track record and our commitment to Kuwait's future is unmatched by any other bank," Mr. Alghanim concluded.
