Gulf Bank Launches New Red

Kuwait, 24 September, 2006:  Gulf Bank has launched its revitalised Red youth program with a bold new look and a high-profile campaign of special customer events during the month of Ramadan.

"Red is much more than just a bank account," Ebtihaj Al Roumi, Youth Manager for Gulf Bank said. "It is an integral part of the way of life for Kuwaiti youth. Red is the first university student program in Kuwait and is a trendsetter among Kuwaiti college and university students between the ages of 18 and 24.

"The revitalised brand is designed to show how Red connects with the needs and lifestyles of students. Red is seen as a "cool" colour by young people and this connection is highlighted by its new look and advertising slogan, "Al Lon Lonak" " "it's your colour"."

To help launch the new Red, Gulf Bank has set up a special tent  in the Marina Mall bridge. During the month of Ramadan, Gulf Bank staff at the tent will communicate the benefits of Red, together with all the programmes and other accounts that Gulf Bank has to offer.

From the 4th to the 13th of October, Gulf Bank will have a large Sheraa-style tent at Marina Mall Crescent. Promoters dressed in traditional Ramadan outfits will be distributing flyers throughout Marina Mall, inviting shoppers to the tent.

Customers who join  Red and deposit KD 10 at the event will receive a Red gift box containing a 1GB USB stick, a Cinescape "Smart Card", specially branded Red playing cards and a Red product guide.

A helium balloon in the shape of the Red box will be illuminated at night and an MC from Marina FM will be broadcasting the Red Ramadan event to the crowd at Marina Mall Crescent.

For every KD 10 in their account, new and existing Red customers can win a Toshiba laptop and for every KD 50, they will be in the final  draw for a Hummer H3, with the next draw to be held in December.

Red has no minimum balance fees. It offers a new, uniquely designed ATM card and, for customers aged 18 years and above, a free Red Charge Card with photo. In addition, Red offers a host of discounts at selected retailers and restaurants in Kuwait.

"With these benefits, it is no surprise that Red has become the program of choice for students in Kuwait," Ebtihaj Al Roumi said. "We expect that with its bold new branding and our special Ramadan events at Marina Mall, Red will achieve even greater popularity among young Kuwaitis."
