Gulf Bank Named ‘Best Retail Bank in Kuwait’ by The Banker Middle East

Kuwait – 18 May 2016: Gulf Bank today announced that it has won the ‘Best Retail Bank in Kuwait’ award from The Banker Middle East, the region’s leading banking industry magazine, in recognition of its outstanding performance in the retail sector. The ‘Best Retail Bank in Kuwait’ award highlights the Bank’s understanding of its customers needs and its commitment to delivering superior services and products. The award was received during a ceremony held on Thursday 12 May, 2016 at Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai, UAE.

Commenting on this achievement, Mr. César González-Bueno, Gulf Bank’s Chief Executive Officer said: “It is an honor to receive this award and to have our efforts recognized by such a distinguished publication. I would like to congratulate and thank the Consumer Banking Division at Gulf Bank on this award and for their efforts. We look forward to greater achievements in the future”.

The Banker Middle East Awards are held each year to recognize businesses in the region that have excelled in providing exceptional levels of customer service and innovation across a range of sectors, from basic banking products to high-end investment services. The awards were established to set the highest benchmarks for the industry. Every year, through a combination of in-depth analysis of financial statements and reader votes winners in various categories are selected. The nominees are selected by a panel of leading industry experts and eventual winners are decided by the more than 50,000 registered users of CPI Financial products and services.

The Bank has also received the ‘Best Corporate Governance Financial Services Award for Middle East 2016’ at the Ethical Boardroom Corporate Governance Awards, and has won the ‘Finance and Banking’ category at the Corporate LiveWire Global Awards 2016. Gulf Banks General Manager for Consumer Banking Vikram Issar and Chief Information Technology (IT) Officer, Peter Roberts, have both been recognized in The Asian Banker’s ‘List of Leading Practitioners in the Middle East for 2016’.
