Gulf Bank Sponsors "Damaged Country or a Creative Pen" Forum

Kuwait " 25 April 2010: Gulf Bank has sponsored this year's three-day "Damaged Country or a Creative Pen" Forum, which is aimed at raising awareness on aggressive behavior amongst students and the negative repercussions it poses on properties.  The event, which took place from 5-8 April, covered all schools located in the Hawalli Governorate.

The Forum's opening ceremony commenced with speeches from prominent figures in the education field. These included Mona Al-Sallal, General Manager of Hawalli Educational Area and Kareema Al Sayyid, Supervisor of the Social and Psychological Services.

As part of the opening ceremony, students dressed in the Kuwaiti flag colors and recited a poem about Kuwait [The Country Love] written by renowned poet Al Sahir.

A main highlight was the performance by male students from "The Farhan Al-Khalid High School" of a play entitled "The Wall," which was written and directed by Fathiya Abdulnabi. The play's central theme focused on advising families and the society at large to help solve children's issues and problems that may result in aggressive and negative behavior.

The three day Forum also included activities such as debates between senior students and senior administration members. Four workshops were presented by Soad Al Mutairi, Bashayir Al-Zamil, Sawsan Al-Sharaf and Dr. Sulaiman Al-Durai"a. The workshops took place at educational facilities: Asma'a Bint Yazeed Al-Ansariyyah, Mishref Intermediate, Asma'a Bint Abi Bakir, Saoud Bin Sinan and Mohammad Abdullah Al-Wuhaib.

Hadeel Al-Fadhli, Manager in the Marketing Department represented the Bank and received a memento on behalf of Gulf Bank from Nawal Al-Khudhari, Manager of the Educational Affairs at Hawalli Educational Area and Salim Al-Rashid, Manager of Educational Activities at Hawalli Educational Area. Students were also awarded with laptops as a token of appreciation on their performances in the theatrical play. Supporters, participants, committees, and teachers, were also presented with mementos.

The closing ceremony was held Under The Patronage of H.E. Sheikh Naif Jabir Al Ahmad Al Jabir Al-Sabah and the names of the three winners in the educational program's competition were announced.
