Capital Intelligence has upgraded Gulf Bank's Long-Term Foreign Currency Rating to 'A' from A- and Financial Strength Rating to 'BBB+' from BBB, with a 'Stable' Outlook on both Ratings, while affirming its Short-term Foreign Currency rating. This rating upgrade was due to Gulf Bank's Good underlying asset quality and strong loan loss reserve (LLR) coverage, Strong CET-1 capital base, sound profitability at the operating level, and the support from Kuwait government.
